BAAMUM NAFI (NAFI’S FATHER) – Film by Mamadou Dia
In the Senegalese village of Yonti, Iman Tierno holds his community together by providing spiritual cohesion. But the peace of the village is threatened when his daughter becomes engaged to the son of his estranged brother, Ousmane. Tierno is wary of Ousmane because of his connection to an extremist sheikh and his desire for power. Because of the engagement, a struggle develops between the two brothers, the peaceful villagers and the fundamentalist movement.
We are showing Nafi’s Father in cooperation with the Africa Film Festival Cologne.
