Suite for Burkina Electric and Orchestra – concert
Four Overcoming cultural differences and combining musical languages – that was the idea and challenge that inspired Lukas Ligeti to write his “Suite for Burkina Electric and Orchestra”. The internationally renowned ensemble Burkina Electric combines West African musical traditions with electronics. The Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne plays on classical European instruments. Ligeti’s suite is a kaleidoscope of colors and contrasts that merge into the common. The program will be complemented by the orchestral piece “Fatse la heso” by composer Michael Mosoeu Moerane from Lesotho.
